About Maxwell Rafeian

Maxwell Rafeian was born in 1987 in North Carolina, USA, but spent his formative years in Iran, raised by an English mother and a Persian father. He began exploring music in his early teens, learning to play several instruments including guitar, keyboard, voice, and double bass. At 19, he began studying music theory and composition at the Tehran Conservatoire, later continuing his education with private instructors. In 2010, he relocated to the UK where he pursued studies in music production, classical piano, and ABRSM music theory. In 2014, he received an offer to study classical piano at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he graduated in 2019. Since then, he has built a diverse portfolio of compositions that range from solo works to orchestral pieces, as well as music for animation and documentaries. Currently, he is focused on creating music for his trio.
